In spring, Trier shows why the Romans built exactly here: the sun is already warm on the Hauptmarkt, the vines are budding in the Olewig vineyards, and the first cyclists are having coffee by the Moselle. Easter, the Easter holidays, the Dutch Meivakantie (May break) and the May bank holidays are the classic travel weeks – and exactly the weeks when a holiday apartment with its own kitchen and parking really pays off.

For cyclists and walkers: the Kylltalperle in Kordel sits right on the Kyll cycle path and the Eifelsteig trail, and the Saartal Suite in Konz-Filzen on the Saar cycle path – both with room for bikes and a station in the village.

For Easter in the city: Red Rock Home and LOFT34 in Pallien, a quarter of an hour's walk across the bridge to the Hauptmarkt. The Olewig Suite is in the middle of the wine village, ten minutes from the cathedral by bus.
